Relocating, Day 2
Spent more time looking at condos today. I found two I liked, I'll be looking at some more on Wednesday. I'd guess some time around next week I'll probably start making offers on something.
Also, I'm not sure if I love or hate the "michigan lefts" all over the place up here.

Relocating, Day 1
I drove up to Detroit yesterday, and spent the night in a hotel up here. Stupid me forgot my dongle for my network card, so I had to go to best buy and get myself a wireless card + hub so I could use the internet these next few days. (Okay, so it didn't have to be wireless, but I want to have some fun with it later).
Spent the night in a Holiday Inn Express, and drove around some. I went to some Italian place last night which was pretty good. Its wierd going out to eat someplace like that alone though. Oh well.
Today I met with a realtor up here, and he drove me around showing me several condo's that were available. I sort of liked 2 of them, but how much you pay for what you get makes me cry.
I also wish my hotel had more than 20 channels, I want to watch Discovery Channel and Comedy Central! At least its got HBO, but there's not really that many shows on HBO I want to watch.
Tomorrow, more driving around.....and maybe I'll head up to Great Lakes Crossing and go to Big Buck.

Quotes
Here are some good quotes I found while browsing around. Stay tuned for the Latin translations if you're lazy and don't want to google them....
The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not "Eureka!" (I've found it!) but " That's funny ..."
- Isaac Asimov
The first step towards knowledge is to know that we are ignorant.
- Richard Cecil
Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
Accipere quam facere praestat injuriam.
(Cicero, Tusculanae disputationes)
Pessimum inimicorum genus, laudantes.
(Tacitus, Agricola)
Nemo fere saltat sobrius, nisi forte insanit.
- Marcus Tullius Cicero

Trevor
Since Bryan told me he had magical trevor stuck in his head at work, I had to load it up and listen to it at work. Since some of you might not have witnessed the joy that is magical trevor, you should go check it out. What are you waiting for......
Its also fun having non blocked internet access, and not caring about being fired for looking at cartoons anymore! I'm going through the penny-arcade archives while I sit at my desk!

Geekiness
There are times I wish I weren't such a geek. I'd have a much easier time overcoming that barrier where I don't care what others think about me and actually share things about myself. Then I'd be much better at having conversations with people I want to get to know better! This would in turn help eliminate those annoying awkward silences in conversations on the phone.
Also, its sort of strange to meet a girl's entire family the very first time you and her are on a date. Although, it was much less strange than I thought it was going to be and it did get me a free supper (thanks Liz's dad!).

New Job + WTS House
I've accepted a position with General Dynamics Land Systems, and will soon be moving out of the middle of no where Indiana!
I've done the paperwork to sell my house, and must say, the look on the realtors face when I told him I was selling my house just 4 months after I bought it was priceless.
Now I've just got to head up to Detroit, and find myself a place to live. That'll be interesting, but hopefully it won't take me too long to find something. Right now, i don't know if I'm going to rent a place for a while, or see if I can find something to buy, but I doubt I'll find something in the price range I want that's not nearly condemed.
